Comments/Remarks: I graduated from UF ROTC as a DMG and commissioned in the Regular Army, having previously served four years as enlisted.  I retired in October 2007 with a total of 37 years of service and received the Legion of Merit.  Of the 37 years of service, I spent 17 years as a drilling reservist and 20 years intermittently on active duty.  Most of my drilling time was with the 143rd TRANSCOM in Orlando, DIMA cell in the Pentagon, IMA position with CENTCOM in Tampa, along with numerous active duty unit assignments.
For those of you either interested in or just entering ROTC, the UF ROTC program has a history of doing an outstanding job preparing young men and women to serve and excel in the Army.  The field training and exercises we experienced, along with time spent at Camp Blanding not only was fun, but served to build team camaraderie and proved to be excellent preparation for the real thing.  The Army Reserve provided me the opportunity to travel throughout the globe, work in challenging job positions, and associate with the finest soldiers and leaders in the military.  Without a doubt, if you elect to go into the UF Army ROTC program, you will not regret the training and life experience you will receive.  GO Army – GO Gators!
