LEADER'S TRAINING COURSE
2-YEAR PROGRAM

Leader's Training Course (LTC)

LEADER'S TRAINING COURSE (LTC)

The Leader's Training Course is the Army's 2-year ROTC Program entry point. Through the Leader's Training Course, students without the ROTC Basic Course who are serious about a career as an Army officer can qualify for entry into the advanced course. The Army observes these students and determines their officer potential in a leadership oriented, challenging, and motivating 5-week training program at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Students will have an opportunity to experience cadet and Army life first-hand.  They will live, eat and work together in platoons consisting of approximately 40 cadets each.  They will learn topics including Military Formations and Drill, Physical Training, Map Reading and Land Navigation, M-16 Rifle Marksmanship, and other Weapons Familiarization.  They will experience the esprit de corps of cross-platoon rivalry and competition, which will earn their platoon honors.  Cadets will have a chance to bond from amongst a diverse group of people from hundreds of schools all over the nation.  It's an experience unlike any other!

Quick Information:

· Available 2-year scholarships pay full tuition, $1200 a year for books and a monthly stipend of $450 for Juniors, and $500 for Seniors, for up to 10 months.

· Cadets are required to attend the Leadership Training Course (LTC) the summer before commencing the ROTC advanced course in order to fulfill the basic course requirement.  They should be serious about a career as an Army Officer and will need to sign a conditional contract.  LTC pays approximately $750, and all meals, housing, transportation and uniforms are paid for by the government.  This camp is not the same as Army Basic Training or “Boot Camp”.

· Any current full time student serious about a career as an Army Officer can apply.

· ACCT program is an alternative to attending LTC

· Applications are always being accepted. If you are interested in applying, contact Lieutenant Colonel Bob Quint: 352-392-ARMY / E-Mail: rquint@aa.ufl.edu
